Inpatient Projects: Baptist enters new turf in Arkansas, breaking ground on $130M hospital

CONWAY, Ark. – Even though officials with the only existing hospital in Conway contend that there is no need for more inpatient beds in the city, Little Rock, Ark.-based Baptist Health recently broke ground for a new acute care facility on the outskirts of town.

Baptist Health officials were joined by Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe, civic leaders, community members, and local physicians at the kick-off of construction for the future hospital with an estimated price tag of $130 million. The hospital is being built on a 37-acre site just west of U.S. Interstate 40 on the south side of the city. Baptist acquired the site in recent years for $10.6 million.
