DALLAS – The American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) has announced that Ian C. Sinnett, AIA, ACHA, LEED AP, vice president/regional leader of healthcare for HOK, has earned his Board Certificate in healthcare architecture. Sinnett recently passed an accreditation examination, which assesses the knowledge and understanding of architects who practice as healthcare specialists. He joins the ranks of more than 400 ACHA colleagues in the US and Canada who have received this significant architectural credential.
ACHA requires its certificate holders to work toward the improvement of healthcare architecture on behalf of the public, to practice in an ethical manner and to maintain the highest standards in the specialized field of healthcare architecture.
Sinnett joined HOK in May 2014 and oversees business development for the firm’s healthcare practice in the Gulf Coast region, from Texas to Florida.
“We are delighted with Ian’s achievement. It is a meaningful acknowledgement of his leadership in healthcare design,” said Jay Tatum, AIA, LEED AP, management principal of HOK’s Gulf Coast region.
Sinnett is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the U.S. Green Building Council. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University and has completed additional training in lean healthcare for operational improvement. Building Design + Construction magazine recognized Sinnett as a top AEC professional as part of its 40 Under 40 class of 2008.
