Competitive bidding fetches $32.7M for San Antonio sports medicine complex

With portfolios of medical office buildings (MOBs) seemingly in short supply, it was not surprising that significant interest was shown by a number of investors interested in a large medical facility in San Antonio’s 900-acre South Texas Medical Center complex.

When the competitive bidding process concluded, Newton, Mass.-based Senior Housing Property Trust (NYSE: SNH) had acquired the Texas Center for Athletes for about $32.7 million, including the assumption of $15.6 million of mortgage debt.
