Simone Healthcare Development Group, an affiliate of New York-based Simone Development Cos., announced in March that it has completed the redevelopment of 1436 Broadway in Hewlett, N.Y., a small suburb just east of JFK International Airport. The 13,000 square foot integrated healthcare facility is operated by Mount Sinai Five Towns Medical Group. Simone Healthcare Development acquired a former Verizon Communications office building, transforming it into the new ambulatory care center that is now under a long-term lease agreement with the Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine. “With the seismic changes in healthcare delivery and technology, and the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, millions more patients will be added to the system in the coming years,” Joseph Simone, president of Simone Development, said in a news release. “The old model for healthcare delivery is no longer viable, and medical providers need to bring comprehensive outpatient care to where people live. That is the need we are helping medical providers to fulfill through new facilities.”
