- HSA PrimeCare announced in March that it has completed the 15,200 square foot Hawthorn Surgery Center at 240 Center Drive in Vernon Hills, Ill., a northern Chicago suburb. The tenant, Hawthorn Surgery Center, selected HSA PrimeCare as its development partner in 2012. HSA PrimeCare, the national healthcare real estate division of Chicago-based HSA Commercial Real Estate, planned, developed and owns the outpatient clinic. HSA PrimeCare also consulted with Hawthorn to estimate and allocate costs for the required Certificate of Need (CON) application and to coordinate with the village of Vernon Hills and neighboring land owners. HSA PrimeCare finished the project on a seven-month construction schedule to facilitate a smooth transition from Hawthorn’s existing facility in Libertyville, Ill. The new Hawthorn Surgery Center features three surgical suites, one procedure room and 14 recovery stations. Hawthorn is a subsidiary of Surgical Care Affiliates LLC.
