CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Medical University Hospital Authority recently reviewed potential architectural and engineering firms that are bidding to help build the new $250 million to $300 million Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Children’s Hospital and Women’s Pavilion.
The new facility, which will be built on the former Charleston Memorial Hospital campus at 171 Ashley Ave., in Charleston, will hold 200 beds. It will include a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), labor and delivery unit, special care nursery, children’s emergency services, women’s services, and other specialties. The new facility is phase two of the authority’s 30-year hospital replacement program.
