Provider DaVita Healthcare Partners Inc. wanted to open a new facility in San Jose to satisfy unmet demand for kidney care. Unable to find an existing property suitable for a retrofit, DaVita turned to Meridian Property Co. to develop a new $4.1 million, 9,075 square foot facility. Meridian successfully overcame the challenges posed by a small, newly-annexed site; regulatory hurdles; inclement weather; and other issues to deliver the urgently needed facility in less than six months. Opened in March 2013, DaVita Stevens Creek achieves Davita’s objectives, provides needed services and sets a new architectural standard for the area.
