DALLAS – November 14, 2013 – CBRE in Dallas has announced that Kelley Ahrens and Austin Barrett have joined the firm’s Healthcare Services Group. They will focus their attention on the ever-evolving local healthcare market, and will be providing transaction and consulting services to institutional and private investors as well as healthcare systems, practice groups and physicians.

Combined Kelley and Austin bring more than 20 years of commercial real estate knowledge and background to their role in North Texas. One of their current assignments is with the Emerus/Baylor joint venture. These are newly developed two-story medical buildings where the first floor will be occupied by Baylor Emergency Department and the second floor will be physician office space. The portfolio is located in various outlying communities in DFW. This is a trend Kelley and Austin have recognized under the current healthcare landscape.

Kelley Ahrens, CCIM, returns to Texas after most recently working for CBRE as Phoenix’s healthcare representative. She formed healthcare real estate teams for some of the major REITS and provided tenant representation to several physician groups and area health systems such as:  John C. Lincoln and Dignity Health. Prior to that, she worked in an acquisitions role in California. In 2013, her transaction value has exceeded $20 million. Kelley has experience working with various healthcare specialties including: ASC, Orthopedic, Neurology, Nephrology, Cardiology, Cardiovascular, General Surgery, Pharmacy, Dermatology, Radiology, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, OB/Gyn, Pediatric, Dentistry, Gastrointestinal, Oncology, ENT and Urology. Kelley was named Impact Player in Medical Brokerage in AZ Business Leaders 2013-2014 and is an active participant in RealShare Medical series, BOMA International (Medical) and Insight.

Austin Barrett joins CBRE’s Healthcare Services Group after having spent more than five years exclusively providing medical tenant representation and buyer services to physician groups across DFW. Since 2008, he has represented several hundred local physicians and completed over 200,000 square feet of leases as a medical tenant representative. In addition to his tenant representation experience encompassing a broad range of physician specialties, Austin is focused on the Emerus/Baylor joint venture as well as procuring new business.

CBRE’s Healthcare Services Group provides comprehensive real estate services offering to leading healthcare systems locally and across the country. CBRE’s integrated approach aids clients in reducing cost and unlocking capital, while being sensitive to the patient experience. Kelley and Austin recognize the significant challenges facing the healthcare industry and the need to carefully balance cost management with patient satisfaction. Their approach to real estate services will provide their clients with innovative, market-leading solutions that leave no stones unturned in searching for economic opportunities.
