Cincinnati Children’s to build $118 million facility in far northern suburbs

The country is currently home to 11 proton therapy centers, the cancer treatment facilities that direct a precise beam of radiation at tumors without harming surrounding tissue.

The number of such facilities is rising rapidly, as another 15 or so are under development or in planning, according to the National Proton Therapy Association.
