Industry Pulse: 2013 InterFace Healthcare Real Estate Dallas draws good turnout

InterFaceDallas2013We are just moments away from the start of the 2013 InterFace Healthcare Real Estate Dallas conference, and the conference organizers say we will have a very good turnout: about 230 registrants from the Dallas area and beyond. As always, Healthcare Real Estate Insights is a proud Media Sponsor of this excellent annual event.

Things actually got started last night with a reception before attendees dispersed to individual, private dinners at some of the local establishments where the conversations were probably at least as interesting as those we will have at the conference today.

I have the honor of kicking things off by moderating the first panel: “The ‘New’ State of the Market for Healthcare Real Estate” with Jason Signor, CEO, Caddis Partners; Scott Mason, Executive Managing Director & Leader, Americas, Cushman & Wakefield; Greg Venn, President & CEO, NexCore Group; and Eric Johnson, Managing Director, Transwestern. We had a great conference call to prep for our session, so I am anticipating a lively panel discussion.

Other sessions today will include:

  • Bonus Pre-Conference Workshop Primer on Stark Law and Anti-kickback Statute – What Every Healthcare Developer or Property Manager Should Know?
  • The Hospital and Healthcare System Perspective on Reform and Its Impact on Real Estate Usage & Strategies
  • How the Shift to Off-Campus, Free-Standing Out-Patient Facilities is Changing the Development Business
  • Impact of Healthcare Reform on Physician Alignment and Changing MOB Tenancies and What It Means for Rents, Occupancy and the Bottom Line – A Leasing & Operations Update
  • Six Degrees of Separation – How the Implementation of Reform is Changing Every Facet of Healthcare & MOB Real Estate and How the Impact on Each Stakeholder Effects the Others
  • Capital Markets Update: Is the Debt Market Open & Receptive to the New Market Paradigm? Who’s Lending and What It Takes to Get Financing for Investment & Development Deals
