McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., has begun construction for the new 74,000-square-foot Heart and Vascular Center at Grossmont Hospital, located in La Mesa, Calif. Funded through Prop. G, a $247 million bond measure approved by East County voters in 2006, the estimated $26.3 million facility will allow for expansion of the hospital’s existing surgery department and provide new multipurpose procedural rooms.
