Transactions: MOB sales topped $1B again in Q1

That makes four straight quarters of $1 billion-plus, and 16.7% above Q1 2012

As 2012 – the record-setting year for medical office buildings sales volume – came to an end, many professionals involved in the healthcare real estate sector warned of a let-down to start 2013.

With 2012 ending with a flurry of activity remindful of the wild, salad days of MOB sales back in 2006-08, the start of 2013 was likely to see a bit of a hangover, if you will. After all, 2012’s total MOB sales volume was an all-time record $5.52 billion, according to statistics from real estate research firm Real Capital Analytics (RCA) Inc. That figure, by the way, only included transactions topping $5 million.
