New facility will be built next to current hospital, upping capacity to 600 beds

Work has finally started on the hospital expansion at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.

After the project’s approval was delayed several times, a joint venture of Clark Construction Group-California LP and McCarthy Building Cos. Inc., called Clark/McCarthy, broke ground in early May on what will be a new 368-bed, 824,000 square foot hospital building.
