Fewer hospitals, telemedicine, big data, repurposing, urgent care and FEDs have been among the hot topics during the second day of the conference
As the BOMA Medical Office Buildings (MOBs) and Healthcare Facilities Conference moves through its second day, some familar themes are beginning to emerge.During the morning General Session, “Culturing New Approaches: Innovations in Healthcare,” the panelists spoke of several key trends, including the probable need for fewer hospitals in the future, the significant costs savings available through telemedicine, and the importance of turning data into information and business intelligence for informed decision making.
In one of the breakout sessions, “Repurposing Space: Real Life Medical Makeovers,” we got an inside look at three very interesting adptive reuse projects.
And in the session “New Emergent Care Facilities: Too Much Too Fast?” the panel examined urgent care centers and freestanding emergency departments (FEDs) and the key role they are playing for providers in many markets.
Be sure to read the next edition of Healthcare Real Estate Insights for these and other emerging trends — and don’t forget to stop by our exhibit booth for free copies of our publications.
