LOS ANGELES, Calif.—April 1, 2013—HGA Architects and Engineers (HGA) has promoted Sean Collins, AIA, LEED AP to Vice President and Satoshi Teshima, AIA, LEED AP, to Associate Vice President in the Los Angeles office. The promotions recognize the contributions each has made to HGA’s growth as a leading design firm.
“Sean and Satoshi bring diverse design expertise and industry knowledge to our client base,” said James Matson, AIA, Vice President and Office Director. “They have proved an important part of HGA’s success as we continue to expand our design services throughout California.”
Collins has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California. He joined HGA in 2001.
Satoshi Teshima is a senior project designer focused on higher education, healthcare and cultural work. He has particular expertise in master planning, sustainable design and alternative energy technology. Among his recent projects are Los Angeles Harbor College Science Complex nearing completion, East Los Angeles College Student Success Center under construction, College of the Desert West Valley campus in development, and Barlow Respiratory Hospital. “It’s important to listen to the client and convert their needs into something meaningful,” Teshima said. “Successful architecture appropriately expresses its function while providing an emotional connection for people”
Teshima has a Master of Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture and a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture from the Technical University of Braunschweig in Germany. He joined HGA in 2004.
