FORT WAYNE, Ind. (March 11, 2013) – Redeveloping a 34,000-square-foot building into a new use, Johnson Development will begin construction in April on a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) outpatient facility at Parkview Hospital’s Randallia campus.
Completion of the clinic, which will provide outpatient healthcare services for veterans across northern Indiana, is expected in March 2014. Johnson Development is the project developer and will manage the property for the owner, Parkview Hospital.
The project is being performed by Johnson Development’s Federal Development Division, headed by Derek Weaver, which is active in VA healthcare clinic projects around the country. Some projects involve rehabilitation of existing facilities, like the outpatient clinic in Fort Wayne, while others are new construction.
“We are very pleased to be working with Johnson Development on this new VA facility,” said Darrell Gerig, Director of Treasury & Cash Management for Parkview Health System. “This redevelopment will be an example of how an aging building can be put to a high-quality new use.”
