Transactions: Health Care REIT buys MOB for $46.5M

Health Care REIT has acquired the 147,225 square foot Waldemere Medical

One of the key outpatient buildings on the campus of Sarasota Memorial Hospital in the oceanside town of Sarasota, Fla., recently changed hands.

In a very substantial price for a transaction involving a single building, Toledo, Ohio-based Health Care REIT Inc. (NYSE: HCN) acquired Waldemere Medical Plaza, an eight-story, 147,225 square foot medical office building (MOB) for $46.5 million, or about $316 per square foot (PSF), according to data from New York-based Real Capital Analytics Inc., a real estate research firm.
