Dear Reader:

Any parent who has sent a child off to college can probably empathize with the conflicting emotions you feel when you drive away and leave your son or daughter on campus.

After you say your good-byes, successfully hold back tears (or not) and share that last lingering hug, all you can do is trust that you’ve done a decent job of parenting – hoping you’ve equipped your child with the foundation they will need to thrive. You are at once proud and excited for the almost limitless opportunity that awaits them, yet sad about the change that will leave a big void back home.
