U.S. HCRE INVESTORS WILL NEED TO BALANCE FALLING YIELDS WITH RISKS

A few months ago, healthcare investors were most concerned with trying to read the U.S. Supreme Court tea leaves. Now, however, we should all be worried about significant capital market turbulence coming from Europe and, to a lesser degree, China.

Greece’s inability to accept a Germanic work ethic and Germany’s inability to accept perpetual subsidies to Greece is likely to lead to a Greek exit or a very long-term muddle in the European Union (EU).  Either way, the European mess suggests a near-term flight to quality that will keep U.S. interest rates at historic lows for the foreseeable future.
