NEW HOSPITAL STILL PROUD TO BE ‘HOTEL-LIKE’

Dear Reader:

A handful of years ago, during the heyday of healthcare real estate development and before the Great Recession, there was an arms race of sorts among health systems looking to get a leg up on the competition.

There was plenty of talk, and some action, about the hospital of the future being one with “hotel-like” amenities designed to make an admission seem almost like a weekend at the spa.
