Transactions: Duke Realty buys Chicago-area MOB

PRICE WAS $47.8M; REIT ALSO ACQUIRES CHRISTUS, COMMUNITY HEALTH FACILITIES

Duke Realty recently acquired the 104,912 square foot Burr Ridge Medical Center, a large MOB in suburban Chicago, for a reported $47.8 million.

Indianapolis-based Duke Realty Corp. has a goal of continuing to add to its medical office building (MOB) holdings.

Well, the publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT) did so with several significant purchases in recent weeks, the largest being a 104,912 square foot MOB in suburban Chicago. Duke Realty (NYSE: DRE) also acquired a hospital and two MOBs in Texas; more about those later in this story.
