A two-story concrete structure at 800 Huntington Ave. in the Mission Hill area of Boston isn’t much to look at. In fact, the 50-year-old building is a bit of an eyesore, even though it houses several doctors and a blood lab.

However, Boston-based Beal Cos. LLP has received city approval for an ambitious, $60 million project to transform the site into a three-story, 83,000 square foot medical office building (MOB) and outpatient clinic.

The developer plans to begin construction in the first quarter of 2011; completion is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2012.
