PLAZA TO MANAGE, LEASE HEALTHCARE REALTY TRUST’S SUN CITY PROPERTIES

Healthcare Trust of America Inc. (HTA), the country’s most prolific buyer of medical office buildings (MOBs) during the last half year, recently chose Peoria, Ariz.-based Plaza Cos. to provide property management and leasing services for its Phoenix area portfolio, which totals more than 641,000 square feet of medical space.
The buildings in the portfolio are located in Sun City and Sun City West, in the northwest portion of the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Scottsdale, Ariz.-based HTA acquired the 17-building portfolio from Roskamp Management Co. in December 2009, paying $107 million. The facilities, which have a total occupancy of 92 percent, are affiliated with or on the campuses of Banner Boswell and Banner Del Webb hospitals, which are a part of Phoenix-based Banner Health.
