Outpatient Projects: Ohio town lands $170M cancer center

CALIF.-BASED OPTIVUS PROTON THERAPY INC. TO BUILD ON MIAMI TOWNSHIP LAND

Miami Township in Ohio had the land and San Bernardino, Calif.-based Optivus Proton Therapy Inc. has the capabilities for a cancer treatment center that utilizes proton beam therapy.

The two sides recently announced they are set to move forward on a future $170 million, 40,000 square foot cancer treatment center that would utilize the three-dimensional proton beam radiation treatment therapy.

The project is slated for a 23-acre parcel owned by Miami Township at the southwest quadrant of a new interchange under construction at U.S. Interstate 75 and Austin Road. Miami Township has about 30,000 people and is located about 10 miles south of Dayton, Ohio.
