Companies: Renamed REIT hires service providers

There have been plenty of changes recently at Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Healthcare Trust of America Inc. (HTA).

In mid-September the real estate investment trust (REIT) officially changed its name – from Grubb & Ellis Healthcare REIT – and moved to self-management, pulling away from its sponsorship by Santa Ana, Calif.-based Grubb & Ellis Co. (GBE).

In addition, the newly renamed REIT went looking for – and found – four third-party service providers to manage and provide leasing services for a large share of its 5.5 million square foot medical office building (MOB) portfolio.

Until recent weeks, Grubb & Ellis provided the property management and leasing services for the REIT’s portfolio.

HTA’s contracts with the new third-party service providers began Sept. 1. Here’s a look at those service providers and the amount of square footage they are managing and leasing for HTA:
