Companies: Hoar completes projects in Alabama

BIRMINGHAM-BASED CONTRACTOR FINISHES PROJECTS IN GLADSDEN, FAIRHOPE

Birmingham, Ala. -based Hoar Construction LLC recently completed expansions at two hospitals in Alabama.

The general contractor completed the 60,000 square foot Centennial Tower project at Gadsden Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Ala. The project included a relocation and centralization of the hospital’s critical care units and a renovation of two new procedure rooms for the surgical services area.

The company also reconstructed and relocated the cardiac catheterization suites, expanded the recovery area in the operating suite and added a new front entrance and parking lot.

Hoar also completed construction of a new four-story, 123,000 square foot tower at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Ala., near the Gulf Coast. The new tower includes a new emergency department, 32 private patient rooms and nursing staff support areas. It also includes space for 32 additional patient rooms to be used in the future.

The planned second phase of the Thomas Hospital project would require demolishing the old emergency department and the construction of a new parking lot on the site, according to a press release from Hoar Construction.
