JASON DODD TALKS ABOUT HOW CIRRUS GREW

Perhaps it would be too much of a cliché to say that certain successful companies stumbled upon their models blindly. That’s because most successful businesses learn and adapt along the way.

It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Dallas-based Cirrus Group LLC, which is part of the Cirrus Cos., stumbled upon its model of building hospitals and surgery centers with attached medical offices. Heck, even the company’s president and partner, Jason Dodd, says as much.

However, the founders of the Cirrus Group, Donald C. Wilson, chairman, and William L. Hutchison Jr., the CEO, were savvy enough to realize that they had uncovered, somewhat naively, a development niche back in the late 1990s that could grow into a successful model.
