Mountain View, Calif.-based Camino Medical Group recently announced plans to rebuild its main clinic in Sunnyvale, Calif., just north of San Jose. The future 150,000 square foot facility, which would have twice as much space as the current facility, would cost an estimated $100 million.
Camino, which is affiliated with the Palo Alto Medical Foundation and Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health, experienced annual average growth of 5 percent since its founding in 1954, according to officials. In recent years, however, annual growth has been in the 10 percent range at the group’s four clinics.
A spokesperson said in local reports that the driver of the project is to modernize the facilities and increase space and services to meet growing demand. The project will also be seismically safe and comply with California’s guidelines.
