HOSPITALS POPPING UP IN ‘BURBS AS REGION THRIVES

There’s no complicated explanation for the strong healthcare real estate market in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area (DFW). In fact, the driver behind the success of medical real estate in what is known as the Metroplex is growth: both in population and industry.

Not only does the Metroplex’s population continue to boom — as the U.S. Census Bureau estimates that the population will grow from about 6 million people today to about 7.65 million in 2020 — but so does its business success.

In fact, just this year Texas overcame New York as being home to the most Fortune 500 companies in the country. Texas now tallies 58 such firms while New York has 55; California is third on the list with 52.
