Cogdell Spencer to buy Marshall Erdman for $247M

Cogdell Spencer Inc. has agreed to acquire Marshall Erdman and Associates, a Wisconsin designer and builder of healthcare facilities throughout theUnited States.

The deal, valued at $247 million, is slated to close by March.

Erdman will operate as a Cogdell Spencer subsidiary.

Codgell Spencer says the deal allows it to expand its health-care real estate services and client base.

The merged company, which will have 600 employees, will market real estate services to health-care systems, physician tenants and practice groups. It will have offices in Charlotte; Atlanta; Dallas; Denver; Seattle; Washington, D.C.; Charleston and Columbia, S.C.; and Madison, Wis.
