CALIFORNIA REGION HAS NEARLY $2 BILLION IN MEDICAL PROJECTS IN THE WORKS

When one looks for the big action in medical real estate in California, the gaze typically runs along the coast line from the San Francisco Bay down to Los Angeles and into San Diego. Travel east from the salt spray, however, and you’ll find plenty of bricks and mortar that are bringing California’s so-called “Inland Empire” region a healthy supply of new patient beds and expanding state-of-the-art medical services.

Kaiser Permanente alone has more than $1 billion in projects either in progress or on the drawing board in San Bernardino and Riverside counties during the next decade. Plenty of the smaller providers are also engaged in new construction, expansion, replacement and major renovation projects as part of a building boom stimulated by swelling population and the need to meet the strict new seismic safety
