UF Health celebrated the opening of its UF Health Durbin Park campus today, a transformative investment in the future of healthcare in Northeast Florida and a major milestone in the organization’s regional growth.

Located on 42.5 acres in northern St. Johns County, one of the nation’s fastest-growing areas, UF Health Durbin Park expands access to advanced care supported by the expertise of an academic health system while strengthening UF Health’s integrated network across the region and state.
“The opening of UF Health Durbin Park demonstrates our long-term vision for serving Northeast Florida,” said Mori Hosseini, chair of the University of Florida Board of Trustees. “This represents far more than a new healthcare campus — it is a promise to this region.”
Durbin Park is the latest addition to UF Health’s growing footprint in Florida, bringing an extraordinary amount of new technology and state-of-the-art care to families here and in communities across the state.
“UF Health and the University of Florida are ensuring families have access to the extraordinary physicians, breakthrough discoveries and advanced treatments that define an academic health system,” said Dr. Stuart Bell, president of the University of Florida. “This investment will improve lives, strengthen communities and help ensure world-class care is within reach for generations to come.”
The first phase of the campus officially opens Sept. 22, and includes a full-service 99-bed hospital, with a multidisciplinary medical office building set to open to patients soon. The new facility brings crucial services, including a state-of-the-art hospital, outpatient surgery, a 24-hour emergency department and specialty services, closer to home for residents of St. Johns County and surrounding communities.

Green, FACHE, senior vice president and Northeast Florida regional president of UF Health. “Every family deserves confidence that exceptional care is available when and where they need it most. UF Health Durbin Park brings nationally recognized expertise, advanced technology and comprehensive services to the area, reducing barriers to care and creating a seamless connection to the full strength of UF Health. This campus was built with the future of our region in mind — ensuring patients can access the right care, at the right time, in a setting designed around their needs.”
The centerpiece of the campus is the UF Health Durbin Park Hospital, a 220,000-square-foot, five-story facility located off State Road 9B minutes from Interstate 95. The facility includes:
- A full-service emergency room open 24 hours a day, seven days a week
- Advanced imaging services
- Six operating rooms
- Two endoscopy suites
- Cardiac catheterization services
- Interventional radiology
- Private inpatient suites designed to enhance patient comfort and healing
The adjacent medical office building will provide 72,000 square feet of multidisciplinary outpatient and specialty care services, including:
- Ear, nose and throat (ENT)
- General surgery
- Gynecology
- Heart & vascular
- Laboratory services
- Neurology
- Neurosurgery
- Orthopaedics
- Pain management
- Rehabilitation services
- Urology
The opening comes at a critical time for the region. St. Johns County continues to experience extraordinary residential and commercial growth, increasing demand for access to high-quality, compassionate healthcare services.

UF Health Durbin Park is the latest chapter in UF Health’s strategic expansion throughout Northeast Florida and reflects a commitment to bringing life-changing diagnostics and treatments to the community. The new campus joins a network that includes UF Health Jacksonville, UF Health North and UF Health Flagler Hospital, creating a more connected system of care for patients across the region.
