Sharon Harper and the Plaza Companies have helped shape Greater Phoenix’s landscape

Sharon Harper was working as a teacher in Greater Phoenix when she decided to become an entrepreneur and launch a new business, the Plaza Companies, in 1982.

The Peoria, Ariz.-based company’s first project, Plaza Del Rio, started with one medical outpatient building (MOB) and eventually grew into a 500,000 square foot, multi-building, mixed-use healthcare campus with MOBs, research centers, senior living facilities and commercial properties.

That project’s growth, as well as its evolution into a mixed-use development area, reflects the growth and philosophy that the Plaza Companies itself has experienced since then, as the firm has, with healthcare real estate remaining a foundation, grown into a full-service real estate company that provides development, property management, brokerage, leasing, investment and asset management and construction management services.
