News Release: Anchor Health Properties Celebrates Groundbreaking of Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital in North Houston

(Houston, TX) Alongside health system leadership, community stakeholders, and project team members, Anchor Health Properties (Anchor), a national, full-service healthcare real estate development, management, and investment company focused exclusively on medical outpatient buildings and specialty healthcare facilities, recently celebrated the groundbreaking of a new, purpose-built inpatient rehabilitation hospital designed to expand access to specialized recovery care in the North Houston region.

Located on the campus of St. Luke’s Health–Springwoods Village Hospital in Spring, Texas, the 40-bed, 58,000 square foot facility will provide comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services for adults recovering from stroke, neurological disease, brain or spinal cord injuries, orthopedic procedures, and other serious illnesses or injuries. Featuring all private rooms, the hospital will provide intensive nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech pathology services designed to help patients regain independence and safely return home.

Anchor Health Properties was engaged as the developer for the project by St. Luke’s Health, a member of CommonSpirit Health, and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, an operating division of Lifepoint Health, and is providing comprehensive development services and real estate planning expertise, including financing, oversight of design and construction, and post-occupancy commissioning. This marks the fourth inpatient rehabilitation hospital collaboration between Anchor Health Properties and Lifepoint.

“Our continued relationship with Lifepoint Rehabilitation reflects a shared commitment to creating healthcare environments that truly make a difference for patients and communities,” shared Sean Miller, Senior Vice President & Partner, Development with Anchor Health Properties. “We are proud to help bring this important resource to the region and support expanded access to high-quality rehabilitation care that will help patients regain independence and improve quality of life close to home.”

Echoing these sentiments, Kollin Rommel, Senior Development Director with Anchor Health Properties added, “Projects like this are successful because of the collaboration and shared commitment of the entire team. From day one, this project has been driven by a common goal — creating a facility that will positively impact patients, caregivers, and the community for years to come. It has been rewarding to work alongside such strong partners throughout the planning and development process, and we are excited to see the vision for this hospital continue to take shape.”

Regionally based firms with extensive healthcare facility experience are serving on the project team, including Earl Swensson Associates, a top healthcare design firm, as the architect, and Robins & Morton, a nationally ranked healthcare construction provider, as the general contractor.

The facility is slated to open Summer 2027. Upon completion Lifepoint Rehabilitation will manage the day-to-day operations of the facility.
