(Shoreline, WA) Alongside local officials, community members, and project team partners, Anchor Health Properties (Anchor), a national, full-service healthcare real estate development, management, and investment company focused exclusively on medical outpatient buildings and specialty healthcare facilities, recently celebrated the topping out of the new nursing facility on the Fircrest Residential Habilitation Center, marking a major construction milestone for the 3-story, 120-bed, 127,942 square foot project located at 15230 15th Ave NE in Shoreline, Washington.
Delivered through a 63-20 Public-Private Partnership with the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) and Public Facilities Group, the project represents a collaborative effort to create a high-quality care environment for some of the state’s most vulnerable residents. The new facility is being designed around the principles of Person-Centered Care to enhance resident choice, meaning, and connection in daily life. In a fee for service capacity, Anchor is providing comprehensive development and real estate planning services on the project, including master planning, community outreach, permitting and entitlement, programming, and oversight of the design and construction of the facility.

The new nursing facility will feature resident rooms with adjacent toilet and bathing facilities, shared common areas and dining rooms, meeting and multi-purpose rooms for resident recreation, therapy, activities, and operations, and access to outside porches, patios, and serene gardens. This thoughtfully designed environment prioritizes the comfort and well-being of residents, ensuring they have spaces that promote connection, relaxation, and engagement with nature. Additionally, there will be individual and shared spaces for program managers and nursing, custodial, and maintenance staff, storage space for an abundance of equipment and supplies, including wheelchairs and laundry carts, and staff and visitor parking with canopy structures for photovoltaic panels.
The project will also include campus infrastructure enhancements, including upgraded site utilities, such as water system improvements, street and sidewalk improvements, as well as a new, separate 6,400 square foot laundry facility to support the entire campus.

Regionally based firms with extensive healthcare facility experience are serving as part of the project team, including AHBL, a civil engineering and design firm located in Seattle, DLR Group | Salus Architecture, a leading architectural firm exclusively dedicated to healthcare design specializing in the design of complex acute and ambulatory care facilities, and Kiewit Building Group, one of North America’s largest and most well-respected construction and engineering organizations.
The facility is scheduled to open in November 2027. The building is designed to be Net Zero Capable and is anticipated to achieve LEED Silver certification for its sustainable design features and performance.
