Red Oak Appoints Paul Cleary as President & COO
Grand Rapids, MI, March 22, 2022 – Red Oak, a Michigan-based commercial real estate finance company, has named Paul Cleary as President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Cleary brings nearly 25 years of national commercial real estate lending experience having held leadership positions at lenders including securitization, private credit and regulated institutions.
Red Oak’s CEO Gary Bechtel said, “Throughout Paul’s 25 years in commercial real estate, he has become an expert in many facets of the industry. We believe Paul will increase production efficiency at Red Oak by implementing his knowledge in operational tools and information systems, as well as team and portfolio management. We are thrilled to welcome Paul as our new President and COO and know he will be a strong force on the Red Oak team.”
Prior to joining Red Oak, Mr. Cleary most recently served in a leadership role at Parkview Financial, a national private mid-market commercial real estate lender specializing in construction lending. He was previously Chief Operating Officer at Money360, a mid-balance bridge lender where he was instrumental in developing the company’s technology platform and implementing operational efficiencies.

In past roles, Mr. Cleary served as Executive Vice President, Loan Production at Cherrywood Commercial Lending, LLC; Senior Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Lending at Kinecta Federal Credit Union and Senior Vice President, Operations and Credit at Impac Commercial Capital Corporation.
Mr. Cleary earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine, a juris doctor degree (JD) from the University of San Diego School of Law, and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
