Debt and structured finance specialist brings a decade of experience to strengthens firm’s healthcare real estate advisory platform

CHICAGO, IL – March 18, 2026 – Colliers, a leading diversified professional services and investment management company, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Heitmann as Senior Vice President with Colliers Debt & Structured Finance. Heitmann will focus on structuring, marketing and placing capital for institutional and private investors as part of Colliers’ U.S. Healthcare Capital Markets, alongside investment sales professionals Jordan Selbiger, Executive Vice President and CJ Kodani, Senior Vice President.

Heitmann brings more than 10 years of real estate capital markets experience, including over seven years focused on healthcare real estate. Heitmann specializes in arranging and executing financing solutions with a focus on medical outpatient buildings, ambulatory surgical centers, inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, behavioral health facilities and single-tenant net-lease (STNL) real estate investments. Over the course of his career, he has advised on a wide range of debt and equity placements, helping clients secure capital for acquisitions, refinancings and development projects across the healthcare real estate sector.

“John’s extensive experience in healthcare real estate capital markets and his ability to structure innovative financing solutions make him a tremendous addition to our growing platform,” said Selbiger. “His relationships with capital providers and strong execution capabilities will help drive continued success for our clients.”

“Colliers’ leadership in capital markets and its strategic approach to debt and structured finance make this an exciting opportunity,” said Heitmann. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to help clients navigate complex transactions and maximize the value of their real estate investments.”
Prior to joining Colliers, Heitmann spent four years with Northmarq Capital and its predecessor firm, Stan Johnson and Company, where he was a founding member of Northmarq’s National Healthcare Group. In that capacity he played a key role in sourcing capital for a variety of STNL real estate product types. Earlier in his career, Heitmann held positions at Cadence Capital Partners and Alpha Capital, boutique capital markets firms based in Chicago, where he focused on debt and equity placement across multiple commercial real estate sectors.

Colliers continues to expand its healthcare capital markets platform as demand for specialized advisory services grows across the sector. Ongoing consolidation among healthcare providers, increased investment in outpatient facilities and greater emphasis on patient-centric care are driving new capital flows, creating opportunities for investors and operators alike.

Heitmann is based in Chicago, Illinois, and earned his MBA from the University of Colorado Boulder, with an emphasis in Real Estate and Finance.
