Thomas Construction Group, together with Columbus Regional Healthcare System (CRHS), has officially broken ground on the new CRHS Advanced Care – Leland medical office building—a project that will significantly expand outpatient healthcare services for the rapidly growing Brunswick County community.
This two-story, 69,963-square-foot facility is designed to bring essential care providers together in one modern, efficient space. The new building will house a wide range of services, including an ambulatory surgery center, imaging, urology, orthopedics, primary care, women’s health, gastroenterology, infusion services, and a central laboratory. By consolidating these specialties under one roof, the project aims to improve accessibility, streamline patient experience, and support long-term community health.
To ensure durability and performance for decades to come, the structure will be built using a concrete tilt-wall exterior supported by deep foundations—an approach Thomas has successfully implemented on numerous healthcare projects across the Southeast. This method supports speed, precision, and quality, aligning with the project’s goals for long-term reliability.
“At Thomas, we are rooted in building environments that elevate the patient experience,” said Chris Reid, President of Thomas Construction Group. “We are honored to support Columbus Regional Healthcare System in bringing expanded, modern care capabilities to the Brunswick County community. This facility reflects both CRHS’s commitment to accessible, patient-first care and our team’s dedication to delivering technically sophisticated, mission-driven healthcare projects.”
As construction manager, Thomas Construction Group brings deep healthcare expertise, strong safety performance, and a collaborative approach to delivering specialized medical environments. From early planning through completion, our team remains focused on creating spaces that support exceptional care and meet the evolving needs of patients, providers, and the community.
