News Release: Neenan Archistruction Breaks Ground on New CommuniCare Clinic in San Antonio’s Luckey Ranch Community

The 13,600-Square-Foot Clinic Increases Access to Comprehensive Services in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – November 3, 2025 Neenan Archistruction, a leading design-build firm, has officially broken ground on a new community health clinic for CommuniCare Health Centers in the fast-growing Luckey Ranch neighborhood of San Antonio. The nearly 13,600-square-foot facility is set to expand critical access to pediatric, family medicine and OB/GYN services in the area, which is currently considered a healthcare desert.

Neenan Archistruction is serving as the construction partner for the Luckey Ranch facility, working alongside a local architect to deliver the project. CommuniCare is currently serving patients in the Luckey Ranch area from a leased clinic located in a nearby retail center, and this new facility will provide much-needed space and purpose-built features to meet rising demand and improve the patient and provider experience.

“This an exciting moment for our team and for the community,” said Bill Pigg, President at Neenan Archistruction. “Helping CommuniCare bring healthcare to areas that need it most is exactly the kind of work that energizes us. We’re proud to support their mission and contribute to the future of community health in San Antonio.”

Following the Luckey Ranch project, Neenan Archistruction will begin design and construction on a second clinic for CommuniCare in the Kallison Bend neighborhood, a nearby area that is looking to expand its local healthcare presence. That facility, which will be approximately 10,800 square feet, will offer pediatric and family medicine services, addressing a gap in access to care in its surrounding community.

“This represents the latest collaboration between Neenan and CommuniCare, building on a longstanding relationship focused on expanding quality, and community-based care across South Texas,” said Paul Nguyen, President & CEO of CommuniCare. “With Neenan’s support, we’re reaching deeper into underserved areas of San Antonio to ensure families can get the care they need, close to home.”

Neenan Archistruction’s integrated and flexible project delivery model has been key in adapting to the unique needs of both projects. For the Luckey Ranch clinic, the firm has prioritized using local partners and subcontractors to maintain community involvement and ensure alignment with project goals. Construction is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2026.
