Hospital will include orthopedic services among others
WILLOW PARK, Texas — As part of its continued commitment to expand access to quality healthcare to more North Texans, Texas Health Resources, a faith-based, nonprofit health system that cares for more patients in North Texas than any other provider, will build a new hospital in Willow Park.
The new hospital will be constructed near Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Willow Park and Texas Health Orthopedic & Spine Surgery Center Willow Park, expanding services and creating a medical campus in the community. It is expected to open in 2028.
“Efforts are underway to develop a unified and comprehensive plan for the Willow Park campus, aiming to leverage its existing strengths while introducing new services to meet the evolving needs of this growing community,” said Barclay Berdan, FACHE, CEO of Texas Health.
Parker County has been among the fastest growing counties in the state.
Texas Health Neighborhood Care & Wellness Willow Park opened its doors a decade ago, providing outpatient and emergency care to Willow Park, Weatherford, Aledo, Hudson Oaks and Annetta. It includes an emergency department, fitness center and three-story medical office building and provides services including cardiac rehabilitation, behavioral health, physical therapy, laboratory services and advanced imaging.
Texas Hip and Knee, a Texas Health Physicians Group orthopedic practice specializing in complex joint replacement, will be a part of the new Willow Park hospital.
“Texas Health is committed to providing care that is aligned with the specific needs of the community and creating a new location for destination orthopedic services for residents of Willow Park and surrounding communities is a natural fit,” said Shawn Parsley, D.O., president and chief operations officer of Texas Health Physicians Group.
The new hospital is part of Texas Health’s larger growth initiative to ensure that access to health services keeps pace with the needs of a growing North Texas. This includes the construction of an eight-story tower at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano, five-story tower at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth, as well as expansion projects at other Texas Health facilities. Construction also recently started on Texas Health Hospital Forney, the city’s first acute care hospital.
“North Texans deserve quality care close to home and Texas Health is excited to embark on this next chapter of growth to meet patients where they are with an array of services to fill their needs,” Berdan said.
