Industry veteran Cassolato brings uniquely skilled and versatile background in life sciences sector, aligns with powerhouse team of brokers at firm
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – October 28, 2024 – Cushman & Wakefield announced today that the real estate services firm has strengthened its Life Sciences Advisory services with new hire, Evan Cassolato, Managing Director in San Diego. Cassolato specializes in the leasing of life sciences space advising life science companies and developers. He also becomes a member of Cushman & Wakefield’s national Life Sciences Advisory group.
Evan Cassolato is strategically aligned with two of Cushman & Wakefield’s marquee life sciences and office brokers, Brett Ward, Vice Chair and Michael Cassolato, Executive Director—both highly respected, elite brokers in San Diego. Evan Cassolato will also collaborate with the firm’s other life sciences experts in San Diego and across the U.S., including a focus in other main life sciences markets along the West Coast.
“Cushman & Wakefield life sciences experts deliver customized, innovative solutions for occupiers, owners, and developers within the fast-evolving life sciences sector. Welcoming Evan to this unit is a significant boost as well advantage given his robust knowledge and experience in this intricate sector,” said Andy La Dow, Cushman & Wakefield’s Managing Principal in San Diego. “Evan is an exceptional addition to our powerhouse brokers, Brett and Michael, and will be a valued member to our colleagues in San Diego and other life sciences hubs.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Evan aboard our Cushman & Wakefield team. He is a San Diego native who has excelled in the region throughout his career, including with some of the most respected developers in the space. Evan’s extensive understanding of the life sciences sector gives our team a fresh perspective and unmatched ability to execute as we continue to elevate our talent and level of client services in the critical San Diego life sciences hub,” said Brett Ward, Vice Chair.
“The foundation of a team’s success can be largely attributed to assembling members that are dedicated, talented and function well together, traits our team continues to build upon. And in this case, we get to build on that foundation with my brother, which I feel very fortunate and excited to be able to do,” added Michael Cassolato. “Knowing Evan personally, he is an authentic and driven professional and I know his clients and C&W colleagues will benefit as well as have a ton of fun working with him.”
Evan Cassolato joins Cushman & Wakefield from Longfellow Real Estate Partners, the largest privately-held life science real estate owner in the nation, where he was a leader for the firm’s leasing and asset management execution across the San Diego and San Francisco Bay Area markets. Prior to Longfellow, Evan held critical roles at some of the most well-respected developer firms in the region, including Cruzan and Irvine Company.
Evan Cassolato said, “Cushman & Wakefield offers a closely knit and talented team of experts locally in San Diego and in key markets around the country, whom I am thrilled to collaborate and continue to build the life sciences advisory platform with. I could not be more grateful for the experience and knowledge I gained with some of the most distinguished and accomplished developers/operators in the industry and look forward to leveraging my skillset and relationships to complement the elite, in-depth life science advisory services my new team provides to our landlord and occupier clients.”
Evan Cassolato is an active member of NAIOP and Co-Chair of the 2025 Developing Leaders Council. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from nearby UC Irvine, where he was a member of the university’s NCAA Division I baseball team and competed in the College World Series.
