The outlook has improved for many healthcare providers recently as they have put the monumental impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic behind them and the shock of soaring interest rates and higher costs has waned a bit.

But now they face a different challenge: How to contend with steadily rising demand.

“Two years ago, I don’t think there was a hospital system in the country that didn’t have negative margins, and those negative margins were then coupled with the highest interest rates we’ve seen in at least 15 years,”
