VENICE, Fla. – Sarasota, Fla.-based Sarasota Memorial Hospital (SMH) finally received the Certificate of Need (CON) it thought it had received in 2016, allowing the system to move forward with a 90-bed, $225 million hospital about 20 miles to the south in Venice.
