News Release: NexCore Group announces completion of CHI Saint Joseph Health Winchester (Ky.) MOB

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The 24,693-square-foot facility is patterned after a prototype reflecting NexCore Group’s collaboration with Catholic Health Initiatives to maximize efficiency and expand services across the United States

The CHI Saint Joseph Health Winchester MOB in Winchester, Ky., developed by Denver-based NexCore Group, opened March 20, 2020.

WINCHESTER, Ky., and DENVER, Aug. 4, 2020 – NexCore Group a Denver-based national healthcare real estate developer announces the completion of the CHI Saint Joseph Health Winchester Medical Office Building (MOB) in Winchester, a suburb of Lexington. The Winchester MOB opened to the public March 20, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The one-story, 24,693-square-foot facility at 1850 Bypass Road represents the latest completion of MOBs being developed in several locations across the United States, based on a prototype NexCore designed in collaboration with client Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI). The facilities are designed to optimize efficiency, such as combining primary and specialty care under one roof and providing flexibility in expanding future services. The new clinic replaces one the CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group, a growing network of healthcare providers, had outgrown.

“NexCore Group is excited to see the completion and opening of another CHI project, one that conveniently delivers excellent healthcare via innovative solutions to this growing community,” says Todd Varney, Chief Development Officer and Managing Partner. “Its design allows for maximum flexibility, a very important component in these times, and the CHI Saint Joseph Health Winchester team tells us it has already noticed the difference that flexibility has made to its growing practices.”

NexCore broke ground in early 2019 on the adaptable facility, the most recent to incorporate a unique on-stage, off-stage model that was first deployed last summer in the CHI Health Clinic Valley View in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The design separates waiting and exam rooms for patients and family members from the “behind the scenes” areas used by physicians and staff. The floorplan contributes to shorter wait times, improved workflows, reduced travel distances and private spaces for care team collaboration. The adaptable design allows for efficient expansion in this growing central Kentucky healthcare market.

Healthcare services offered at the CHI Saint Joseph Health Winchester MOB include primary care, orthopedics, cardiology, imaging, laboratory services and physical therapy.

Along with NexCore, the project team included architect Leo A. Daly (leoadaly.com) and general contractor Alston Construction (alstonco.com).
