Tucson, AZ – August 20th, 2018 – Evans Senior Investments (ESI) successfully represented the sale of Avalon Southwest Health & Rehabilitation, a 211-bed skilled nursing facility in Tucson, for $15 million or $71,000 per bed.
Built in 1983, the facility was managed by Avalon Healthcare. Located in southern Tucson with 211 operating beds, it was Avalon’s only community in Arizona. The facility is also positioned within a robust network of local hospitals, including the neighboring Banner University Medical Center 500 feet away. Historical occupancy averaged in the mid-70% offering the new ownership abundant value-add potential, with the opportunity to continually improve occupancy, payor mix, and profitability.
The buyer was a Chicago-based owner/operator looking to establish a presence in Arizona. ESI represented the seller, an independent investor group seeking to re-position their capital.
