GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., May 26, 2017 – Spectrum Health will celebrate the opening of its newest integrated care campus next week. The newly-renovated facility is located at 426 Michigan Street NE in Grand Rapids.

A ribbon-cutting event will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30. Several Spectrum Health representatives will be present. A community preview of the facility will follow at 4:30 p.m.

The 35,500 square foot building, built in 1987, formerly housed a variety of practices and services. Now it will be the new home to two Spectrum Health Medical Group internal medicine and pediatrics primary care practices formerly located at 1300 Michigan Avenue NE.

Other services in the integrated care campus include occupational health, rehabilitation, lab and radiology.

“We are pleased to be able to offer primary health services to people who live and work downtown,” said Tina Freese Decker, executive vice president, chief operating officer, Spectrum Health. “This facility will offer convenient, coordinated care.”

The facility will be open to patients beginning Monday, June 5.

An integrated care campus is designed to enhance the patient experience. Patients can avoid traveling from location to location for additional health services. Physicians and advanced practice providers are located together in a state-of-the-art facility and are easily available for consultation when needed.

The redesign of the facility was done by Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber, Inc, with  Granger Construction leading the construction.

Spectrum Health opened its first integrated care campus in 2012 at East Lakewood Boulevard in Holland. The Integrated Care Campus at East Beltline opened in Grand Rapids in 2014, and the Integrated Care Campuses at Ionia and at North Muskegon opened in 2016. A Spectrum Health Integrated Care Campus in Rockford is expected to open this August and an Integrated Care Campus in Ada is scheduled to open in early 2018.
