Transactions: Anchor Health Properties makes new purchases in Connecticut, Minnesota

STAMFORD, Conn. – One of the relatively new players in the MOB investment sector, Anchor Health Properties, the longtime healthcare real estate (HRE) development firm, recently acquired, in a joint venture (JV) partnership, what it calls a “Class A” MOB in Stamford, near the border with New York.

The longtime development firm, which now employs James A. Schmid III, formerly with Orlando, Fla.-based CNL Healthcare Properties, as its chief investment officer, has been acquiring properties with Washington, D.C.-based The Carlyle Group as its JV partner at a nice clip recently.

Founded more than 30 years ago by Lou Sachs and Paula Crowley, Anchor Health decided to add HRE acquisitions to its lineup of services after merging with Charlottesville, Va.-based Brinkman Management & Development in 2015.

The company is now led by CE Ben Ochs.
