News Release: Clinica Family Health Purchases Land for New Headquarters, Clinic in Lafayette Tech Center

Transwestern Represented Nonprofit on Land Assemblage for Expansion, Consolidation

(May 17, 2016 – DENVER) – Transwestern’s Denver office today announces Clinica Family Health Services has acquired three adjacent pieces of land totaling 7 acres in the Lafayette Tech Center. The nonprofit plans to relocate its administrative offices and Lafayette clinic from two separate sites to a new flagship facility that it will build at the new location. The new building will allow Clinica to expand its services and bring approximately 30 new jobs to the city.

“Right now our space in Lafayette is spread across our current clinic and two administrative spaces,” said Clinica’s President and CEO Simon Smith. “This new facility will house all three and will allow us to expand access to primary care services and open a dental clinic.”

After helping with a lengthy site selection process that stretched from Boulder to Broomfield, Transwestern’s Craig Paton, Kevin McKinnon, Bucky Dilts and Brian Wingate represented Clinica in the acquisition of the three separately owned lots. Clinica is partnering with Northstar Commercial Partners, a Denver real estate development firm, to construct its new clinic. The partnership between Clinica and Northstar was fostered by Transwestern staff.

“Clinica was founded in Lafayette almost 40 years ago and has been part of the community ever since,” said Paton, a vice president at Transwestern. “It was essential to Clinica’s leadership that they remain close to their roots while also growing to meet the increasing need for affordable health care in east Boulder County. We helped them do just that.”

Clinica recently received a $1 million federal grant and $500,000 from the Boulder County Worthy Cause to help with the construction of this project. The new, 65,000-square-foot facility will house three medical teams capable of providing care to almost 10,500 individuals each year, a dental clinic that can serve about 4,500 patient a year, a pharmacy, space for Boulder County Public Health and Mental Health Partners, as well as administrative and training space. The building should be ready for occupancy in 2018.
