Medical office made up almost $9.3 billion of the total, Revista says

U.S. medical real estate sales totaled more than $11.3 billion in 2014, according to the healthcare real estate (HRE) data service Revista. Medical office building (MOB) sales accounted for 63 percent of the total dollar volume of transactions, followed by other medical (19 percent) and hospitals (18 percent), the Annapolis, Md.-based real estate research firm reports.

The total included more than $7.1 billion in MOB sales, plus nearly $2.2 billion in sales of related space, such as medical condos, offices with medical tenants and retail properties with medical users. Sales of hospitals accounted for slightly more than $2 billion.
