OKLAHOMA CITY – Construction is underway for a new SSM Health Medical Group ambulatory care medical office building at I-35 and Covell Road in northeast Edmond, Okla. The 13,000 square-foot medical office building will house urgent care services as well as primary care, pediatrics and specialty care provider offices.

“We are pleased to expand our ministry to the residents of the growing Covell corridor in northeast Edmond,” stated Dr. Kevin L. Lewis, president, SSM Health Medical Group. “This facility represents a new, innovative model for physician and urgent care services featuring high quality medical care along with new access technologies to add convenience and enhance the patient experience. At the same time, our providers and staff are committed to providing a soothing, upscale environment for the benefit of our patients.”

Pediatrician Jason Onarecker, MD, and family medicine physician Nathan Blake John, MD will move from their north central Oklahoma City office to Edmond with the opening of the new ambulatory care location. Kristi McKee, PA-C, currently practicing at the SSM Health Urgent Care site at Broadway Extension and NW 63rd St. in Oklahoma City, will serve as the lead provider for urgent care. As residents of Edmond, the providers are committed to building strong relationships with families in the community.

SSM Health worked closely with the medical group providers, MILLER Architects, and developers Darin Miller and David Neff, to create the innovative medical office building. Miller and Neff have a long-standing relationship with SSM Health in Oklahoma, as they designed the successful SSM Health St. Anthony Healthplex campuses, including the newest location under construction in El Reno, Okla. Construction on the new Edmond facility is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2021. Anderson & House Construction is the general contractor for the project.
